Youth Academy

The Youth Academy at the University of Galway offers high-ability primary and secondary school students a unique opportunity to engage in university-level learning. Designed for 4th to 6th class primary-school students and 1st to 3rd class secondary-school students, the programme provides courses in various subjects, including Italian (for primary schools), that extend beyond the standard school curriculum. This initiative fosters academic development and exposes young learners to university life, encouraging them to explore diverse fields of study.

Uni4U

The Uni4U programme, led by the Access Centre at the University of Galway, provides over 200 sixth-class students from five DEIS and Link primary schools in Galway City with enriching university experiences. This initiative aims to inspire and motivate students by offering them a glimpse into university life and learning.

Learning with Geronimo Silton

During the Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo 2024, the Italian Discipline at the University of Galway organised interactive workshops in primary schools, featuring games and quizzes inspired by the book A Thousand Wonders: A Journey to Discover Italy by Geronimo Stilton. This initiative aimed to promote the Italian language and culture among young learners in a fun and engaging way.
